Two weeks after PNE slashed its guidance for the 2026 financial year, the wind developer's stock is still feeling the aftershocks — but the analyst community has yet to abandon ship. Münchmeyer Petersen Capital Markets trimmed its price target from EUR 12.00 to EUR 7.60, while First Berlin Equity Research cut its own from EUR 10.00 to EUR 8.30. Both houses reaffirmed their buy recommendations.

The guidance revision, announced roughly three weeks ago, now points to group EBITDA of EUR 60–75 million for 2026, with normalized EBITDA expected in a range of EUR 65–80 million. PNE blamed drawn-out project sales and slower permitting procedures. A further drag came from the company's decision to retain several wind farms in its own portfolio that had originally been earmarked for sale. The postponed projects are now slated for realization in 2027.

Shares Take a Sharp Hit

News of the downgrade triggered a steep sell-off, with the stock losing nearly a fifth of its value at one point, according to dpa-AFX. Even so, PNE described its underlying operating performance as continuing on a successful track in its corporate announcement.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying PNE?

Attention now turns to the company's next scheduled disclosure: the quarterly statement for the third quarter of 2026, due on November 12, according to the financial calendar.

Ownership Register in Flux

Alongside the analyst revisions, PNE's shareholder base has been shifting. Morgan Stanley reported on October 15 that its total attributed voting stake in PNE had risen from 50.07% to 52.15%, effective as of October 8. The mandatory disclosure attributed the threshold crossing to Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc's acquisition of client collateral with usage rights.

The Goldman Sachs Group also filed a stake notice, reporting on October 14 that its combined holdings of voting rights and financial instruments had fallen from 6.36% to 4.79%. That threshold breach likewise took effect on October 8.

On the downside, Union Investment Management disclosed roughly two weeks ago that its attributed voting rights in PNE had dropped to 2.96%, down from a previously reported total of 4.83%. The threshold contact date for that filing was October 19. The earlier notice had broken the holding down into shares and instruments; the new figure consists entirely of shares, taking Union Investment below the reporting threshold. PNE published a corresponding voting rights announcement.
