Primary Hydrogen Preps Wicheeda North Spud as Airborne Survey Data Lands This Month
Published on 09/26/2026 at 21:10 | Editorial boerse-global.dePrimary Hydrogen is heading into a stretch of fieldwork that will test whether its Canadian ground package can deliver on the geological promise management has been assembling. With the late-summer selloff now in the rear-view mirror, attention is shifting from land acquisition to the drill bit.
The stock closed Friday at EUR 0.7450, a gain of 6.4 percent on the session. Even after that bounce, the shares sit well below their 52-week high of EUR 1.59. Over the past 30 days the equity has shed 42 percent, a slide media reports have tied to Middle East geopolitical tensions and broad market weakness rather than any company-specific setback.
First Pass at Wicheeda North
The headline event on the calendar is the maiden drill program at the Wicheeda North rare-earth project. Radius Drilling Corp. was contracted roughly two weeks ago to handle the initial campaign of about 1,500 metres, with the first hole scheduled to turn on October 1, 2026. Work is expected to wrap by November 1, 2026.
It marks the first test of its kind on the property, and management is chasing detailed insight into how mineralisation is distributed below surface. The groundwork has already been laid: a first phase of soil sampling is complete, and Precision GeoSurveys Inc. was brought in about two weeks ago to run an airborne radiometric survey. Preliminary readings from that survey are due by the end of September.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying PRIMARY HYDROGEN?
Hydrogen Acreage Takes Shape Across Eastern Canada
While the rare-earth prep work advances, Primary Hydrogen has been quietly building out a natural hydrogen portfolio. On August 17 the company picked up the Northumberland project in Nova Scotia, covering two licences and 72 claims across roughly 1,166 hectares on the northern rim of the Cumberland Basin in Cumberland County. That gave the explorer an early foothold in a geologically compelling region.
Roughly a month ago it added the Wallace project in the same basin, and the two assets together form a broader land package in the province. Planned work there includes data review, structural interpretation and reconnaissance soil-gas surveys.
Ontario is part of the picture too. More than a month ago the company staked the Seagull North project in the northwest of the province, holding 313 single-cell mining claims spanning about 65 square kilometres in the Thunder Bay mining district. The ground sits next to active drilling targeting natural hydrogen and helium, following a sample from the neighbouring property that confirmed the presence of hydrogen.
Shareholders Back Board and Pay Plan
Corporate housekeeping is also settled. At a shareholder meeting about two weeks ago, investors approved a new equity-based compensation plan and re-elected directors David Jackson, Benjamin Asuncion, William Timothy Heenan and Martin Kowcun. Turnout represented 12.29 percent of outstanding shares, and all resolutions passed with the required majority — giving management a stable mandate as the exploration program moves from planning into execution.
For investors in this early-stage explorer, the coming weeks hinge less on macro headlines than on hard data: the airborne survey results due imminently and the first core from Wicheeda North once the rig starts turning.
