Primary Hydrogen Wraps Up Wicheeda North Soil Sampling as Investors Await Airborne Survey Results
Published on 09/23/2026 at 11:40 | Editorial boerse-global.dePrimary Hydrogen has closed the second round of soil sampling at its Wicheeda North rare-earth property, with crews finishing work across three additional grids on 23 September. The Canadian explorer now turns its attention to the pending interpretation of an airborne geophysical survey, preliminary results of which are expected by the end of September.
The fieldwork forms the front end of a broader push that will culminate in the company's maiden drill program at the British Columbia site. Precision GeoSurveys was contracted to fly a radiometric survey spanning 738 line-kilometres at 50-metre spacing, with data collection slated for completion by 20 September. Combined with the soil analyses, those readings are intended to sharpen the drill targets ahead of the main event.
Countdown to the First Hole
Roughly 1,500 metres of initial drilling is planned, with Radius Drilling holding the contract. Primary Hydrogen has fixed 1 October 2026 as the spud date, and the contractor is expected to wrap up the holes by early November. The exploration budget for the season is fully funded and has cleared regulatory approval, leaving the company with a clear runway into the autumn.
Management's aim at Wicheeda North is straightforward: test the property's geological potential in a systematic way. Geochemical sampling, aerial geophysics and the first deep holes are designed to establish whether the targeted structures carry rare-earth concentrations of economic interest.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying PRIMARY HYDROGEN?
A Two-Track Portfolio
Wicheeda North is only half the story. Primary Hydrogen has been assembling natural hydrogen ground in parallel, most recently securing exploration licences in Nova Scotia's Cumberland Basin through the Northumberland project in August. That followed the acquisition of the Wallace hydrogen project, announced roughly three weeks ago.
Ontario has also featured in the expansion. The Seagull North project was staked more than a month ago, covering 65 square kilometres and adjoining ground where drilling for natural hydrogen and helium is already under way. Running rare earths and hydrogen side by side gives the explorer exposure to two prospective commodity themes, though for a junior the strategy carries real logistical demands and a heavy capital burden.
Balance Sheet and Boardroom
Funding for the work was arranged through a private placement completed on 8 July under the LIFE regime. Units were priced at CAD $0.60, generating gross proceeds of approximately CAD $1,475,742 to underwrite the coming exploration campaigns.
The leadership team was reshuffled over the summer. David Jackson took over as President and Chief Executive Officer on 20 July, with Benjamin Asuncion remaining on the board as a director. Christopher Longton was appointed Vice President Exploration. At the annual general meeting held just over a week ago, shareholders approved every resolution put forward, re-electing directors David Jackson, Benjamin Asuncion, William Timothy Heenan and Martin Kowcun for the coming financial year. The reappointment of auditor DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants also passed, alongside a new share-based compensation plan.
Sentiment and the Share Price
Market conditions have not been kind to early-stage explorers. Media reports point to geopolitical tensions around Iran, firmer oil prices and rising bond yields weighing on the speculative resources segment, and Primary Hydrogen has felt that pressure. The stock last changed hands at EUR 0.6750, down 43% over 30 days and sitting below its 50-day average of EUR 0.8571.
The share has been searching for a floor after a volatile stretch. It closed at EUR 0.7000 in the prior session, a modest daily gain of 0.7%, but the 30-day picture still shows a decline of 41%. The coming weeks will indicate whether the field work now getting under way can supply fresh operational momentum.
