Radiant Uranium Scraps Samson Metals Deal to Pour Resources Into Athabasca Drilling
Published on 08/16/2026 at 01:30 | Redaktion boerse-global.deThe Canadian uranium explorer has walked away from a planned acquisition, opting instead to channel its financial firepower into advancing its own exploration ground in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin. Radiant Uranium Corp. formally terminated its agreement to purchase Samson Metals Corp. from Konrad Pimiskern, a transaction that had been valued at roughly C$1.4 million.
Management framed the decision as a capital-preservation play. Rather than dilute its treasury on an external purchase, the company intends to concentrate on securing drill permits for two priority projects — Gorilla Lake and Key Lake Road — where it sees the most immediate exploration upside.

Drilling Plans Take Shape at Two Flagship Properties
At Gorilla Lake, Radiant Uranium is seeking approvals for up to 7,000 metres of diamond drilling. The proposed program is designed to follow up on structural trends flagged by a heli-borne TEM survey conducted in 2024, subsequently reinforced by field work. The property spans 6,950 hectares within the Carswell impact structure, a geological setting prized for its complex deformation history.
Meanwhile, the company has updated the permitting status for its Key Lake Road project, where it plans up to 30 drill holes targeting the DD Zone. That zone sits roughly 90 kilometres south of the established Key Lake mine and mill complex. The land package exceeds 5,500 hectares and sits within the Wollaston-Mudjatik transition zone, a geological corridor associated with high-grade uranium mineralisation in the region. A third asset, Douglas River, adds over 1,300 hectares on the margin of the Carswell structure, bringing the total portfolio to approximately 13,800 hectares.
The Athabasca Basin is widely recognised as hosting some of the world's highest-grade uranium deposits, with major operations such as McArthur River and Cigar Lake located nearby.
CSE Migration and a Stock in Search of Support
The deal termination comes on the heels of a broader corporate overhaul. Radiant Uranium — rebranded from Kirkstone Metals — recently moved its primary listing to the Canadian Securities Exchange, a shift CEO Clive Massey has described as creating a "more company-friendly environment." Massey noted the new venue affords greater flexibility when evaluating future acquisition opportunities, without the regulatory friction of previous listing arrangements.
The transition has not been smooth for shareholders. The stock closed Thursday, 13 August 2026, at C$0.14, up 3.57% on the day, and held that level into Friday's close of 14 August. That leaves the shares barely above their 52-week low of C$0.135, a far cry from the C$0.16 levels seen in early August — and an even more distant echo of a 52-week high of C$14.54.
With approximately 41.22 million shares outstanding, the company's market capitalisation stands at roughly C$5.77 million. Technical indicators suggest selling pressure may be easing: the relative strength index sits near 44.5, a reading that typically signals waning downside momentum rather than oversold conditions.
European Access and the Path Ahead
Beyond the CSE listing under ticker RUC, the shares are also available to European investors through Tradegate and Xetra in Germany under the code V0O0. The multi-listing strategy is intended to broaden the shareholder base at a time when structural demand for uranium is being underpinned by the global energy transition and efforts to secure nuclear fuel supply chains in North America.

Attention now centres on the C$0.135 support level. Should that floor hold, chart-watchers may interpret it as the early stages of accumulation following the post-listing sell-off. But the more consequential catalysts lie in the regulatory pipeline. Radiant Uranium is currently engaged in consultations with local First Nations and other stakeholders for Gorilla Lake, a mandatory component of the permitting process. Further updates are expected once drill approvals are finalised and exploration crews mobilise.
For the remainder of fiscal 2026, the drilling campaigns at Gorilla Lake and Key Lake Road will serve as the primary value drivers — assuming the permits arrive as scheduled.
