Renk's chief executive Alexander Sagel bought 6,790 shares in his own company on the same day the defence contractor published its nine-month figures — a purchase worth EUR 238,802.94 at a price of EUR 35.17 per share in Xetra trading. The mandatory disclosure of the transaction, filed with BaFin, landed alongside the results rather than ahead of them, giving investors two signals to weigh at once.

The numbers themselves showed order intake running well ahead of revenue. Incoming orders for the first nine months of 2026 reached EUR 1,664.4 million, an increase of 33.6% year on year, while the order backlog stood at EUR 7.6 billion as of 30 September. Sales, by contrast, advanced 5.8% to EUR 982.0 million.

Profitability improved faster than the top line. Adjusted EBIT climbed 12.7% to EUR 158.8 million, a margin performance that drew a positive read from DZ Bank analyst Holger Schmidt, who described the third quarter as operationally convincing. The bank reiterated both its buy recommendation and its fair value estimate of EUR 56 on the day after the release, with Schmidt arguing that the company's ambitious full-year targets remain within reach.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?

Jefferies reached a similar verdict, restating its buy rating and holding its price target at EUR 60.

Guidance Held, Portfolio Reshaped

Management left its outlook for the continuing operations untouched: roughly EUR 1.4 billion in revenue for 2026 and adjusted EBIT of between EUR 240 million and EUR 255 million. One structural change sits behind those figures — the plain bearing division will be reported as a discontinued operation from the fourth quarter onwards, which shifts what the guidance actually covers.

The marine business supplied a separate piece of news on 29 October, when Renk announced that its Magnet-Motor unit had won an order from Saab tied to a major submarine programme for a NATO member state. The same statement flagged the company's intention to showcase its maritime portfolio at Euronaval in Paris, running from 3 to 6 November.

Investors will get the fuller strategic picture on 8 December, when Sagel presents a hybrid strategy update in London, with attendance both on site and digitally.
