Renk Group Faces October Reckoning as Orders Clash With Downgrades

Renk plans a Jefferies US roadshow Oct 14-16 and a Nov 5 quarterly report, as BofA cuts to Neutral and JPMorgan trims its target.

Renk Group has lined up a dense sequence of investor-facing events for the coming weeks, and the timing could hardly be more delicate. The Augsburg-based gearbox specialist will take its equity story on the road from October 14 to 16, 2026, appearing at a US roadshow organized by Jefferies. A pre-close call covering the first nine months of business follows on October 21, 2026, before the full quarterly report and an accompanying analyst and investor conference call land on November 5, 2026.

Those dates arrive against a backdrop of divided opinion on the stock. Jefferies kept its "Buy" rating in place on Wednesday, with analyst Vanessa Jeffriess pointing to the company's recent order momentum and calling it a solid start to the closing quarter. Not everyone shares that read.

Price Target Cut, Rating Pulled

Roughly two weeks ago, Bank of America stripped its buy recommendation and moved to "Neutral," according to media reports. Analyst David Holmes also slashed his price target to EUR 42.50 from EUR 62.50, citing doubts over whether production levels in the gearbox segment can be sustained over the long haul — a concern he said caps the stock's longer-term valuation potential. The share price has shed 6.5 percent since that call.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?

JPMorgan made its own adjustment in late September. Analyst David Perry trimmed his target for the defense supplier to EUR 62 from EUR 75 while keeping an "Overweight" stance. Perry flagged possible softness in the Maritime & Industry division's industrial business and cautioned that third-quarter operating profit could come in somewhat below expectations.

Patria Follow-Up Adds EUR 30 Million

Offsetting the cautious notes is a fresh commercial win. Finnish defense group Patria awarded a follow-up order for HSWL 076 gearboxes destined for the TRACKX vehicle family. The contract carries a volume of EUR 30 million, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027. The deal bolsters Renk's medium-term order backlog, though it does not alter near-term earnings. For market watchers, the key question remains how quickly such military procurement programs convert into actual shipments — a factor that has left some sector specialists framing the stock's current valuation headroom more narrowly.

A Stock Pinned Near Its Low

Friday's session closed at EUR 34.35. Year-to-date, the paper is down 36 percent, leaving it just about 2.6 percent above its 52-week low. Whether management can counter the market's more cautious voices with convincing arguments will hinge on the upcoming presentations and the nine-month figures due in November.
