Renk Group Heads Into a Crowded October With Its Order Book in Focus

A EUR 30 million follow-up order from Finland's Patria has given Renk Group a timely talking point as the Augsburg-based defence supplier prepares for a dense stretch of investor events — and as its share price continues to grope for a floor.
The stock was quoted pre-market at EUR 34.17, a mere 2.0 percent above its 52-week low of EUR 33.49. Friday's session closed with a modest 0.4 percent decline at EUR 34.35. Measured from the start of the year, the shares have shed 36 percent of their value, leaving the equity stuck in a consolidation range after weeks of choppy trading.
Patria Deal Lifts Mid-Term Visibility
The HSWL-076 gearbox order covers the TRACKX vehicle family and carries a total value of EUR 30 million. Finland and Sweden kicked off their first TRACKX procurement at the end of September, with Renk's deliveries slated to begin in 2027.
Jefferies analyst Vanessa Jeffriess, who reaffirmed a Buy rating on the stock on Wednesday, acknowledged the contract is no blockbuster. Even so, she framed it as a solid opening to the final quarter of 2026 and a meaningful addition to the group's medium-term manufacturing visibility.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?
Washington Pitch Followed by a US Roadshow
Renk is not waiting for its quarterly report to press its case with investors. Starting today, the company is exhibiting at the AUSA trade fair in Washington, D.C., where it will present its product portfolio alongside Horstman through October 14. A Jefferies-organised roadshow across the United States follows immediately afterwards, running from October 14 to 16.
Analysts Split on the Road Ahead
Opinion on the equity remains divided. On September 29, JPMorgan trimmed its price target to EUR 62 while keeping an Overweight rating. Analyst David Perry pointed to the risk of disappointing operating earnings in the third quarter as the reason for the adjustment.
Roughly two weeks later, Bank of America went further and downgraded the stock, dropping its Buy recommendation. BofA analyst David Holmes questioned whether Renk can sustain its current level of gearbox production over the longer term.
Jefferies, by contrast, held its ground. The firm left the shares at Buy on October 7, though it declined to attach a fresh price target to that assessment. The split verdicts have landed against a broader soft patch for defence names — one that market participants struggled to pin on any single catalyst, with the aerospace and defence sector index also retreating.
Two Dates to Circle
Management will host a pre-close call on October 21, ahead of the actual figures, giving analysts their customary chance to sound out details on the quarter just ended. The full picture arrives on November 5, when Renk publishes its interim statement for the first nine months of the 2026 financial year and holds a conference for analysts and investors.
What matters most for the share price from here is how convincingly profitability and the order backlog stand up against the production concerns that have been voiced.
