Renk Tests 52-Week Floor as JPMorgan's Trimmed Target Squares Off Against Goldman's Buy Call

Renk Group's equity is pressing hard against its yearly low, with the defence contractor's stock changing hands at just a whisker above the 52-week trough of EUR 37.42. Tuesday's session saw the shares retreat 5.2% to EUR 37.79, leaving a gap of barely 1.0% to that floor. The slide extends a soft patch that took hold after a downbeat reassessment from JPMorgan landed on Monday.
That reassessment came courtesy of analyst David Perry, who trimmed his price objective on the stock to EUR 62 from EUR 75 while keeping his "Overweight" rating intact. Perry's caution centres on the third quarter of 2026, where he expects a potentially underwhelming operating result. The soft spot, in his view, sits squarely in the industrial operations of the Marine & Industry division. By contrast, he continues to model solid figures for the Vehicle Mobility Solutions arm.
A House Divided
Not everyone on the sell side shares Perry's near-term caution. Goldman Sachs had already moved in the opposite direction in mid-September, upgrading Renk from "Neutral" to "Buy" on 18 September while holding its EUR 65 target steady. The US bank framed the call as an attractive entry point following the stock's earlier pullback.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?
The split verdicts capture the bind investors find themselves in: the longer-term growth story still looks intact, yet nagging margin questions are weighing on daily trading and keeping sentiment unsettled. Whether the profitability worries are justified will only become clear once the company's next official reports land. Until then, uncertainty over the business trajectory is likely to remain the dominant force steering the share price.
Big Money Shuffles Its Chips
Even as the quote drifted lower, several institutional players adjusted their positions, according to voting rights disclosures. BlackRock reported a total holding of 4.13% as of 10 September 2026, comprising 3.35% in voting rights and 0.79% held through instruments. UBS Group, meanwhile, disclosed a total position of 5.13% on its threshold-touch date of 18 September 2026, up from 5.08% two days earlier.
Dates to Circle
Concrete clarity on the actual trading and earnings picture arrives over the coming weeks. Renk will first attend the AUSA defence trade show in Washington, D.C., from 12 to 14 October 2026. A pre-close call covering the first nine months of the year has been scheduled for 21 October 2026 in Augsburg, ahead of the official release of the nine-month figures and quarterly statement on 5 November 2026. In the interim, the market is likely to keep weighing demand in the defence segment against the lull in the industrial sub-segment.
