Ubtech Robotics shares climbed 9.0% in Hong Kong trading, lifted by a broad rally across physical-AI and humanoid-robotics names rather than any single company announcement. Media reports attributed the advance to renewed momentum in the sector as a whole, with the stock moving in step with its peers.

The gain stands in sharp contrast to the prior session, when the stock shed 6.6% to close at €7.34. That pullback came against a weak backdrop for Chinese technology shares: Reuters reported on Monday a wide selloff in Chinese AI and semiconductor stocks, citing concerns over AI demand, stretched valuations and export restrictions. The news agency pointed to no single clear trigger for the selling pressure, and noted that the Chinese STAR50 index had lost 40% in less than four months.

Japan Exclusive Tied to Certification Milestone

On the corporate front, Ubtech signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Bitcoin Japan Corporation covering six product lines of humanoid and service robots, including the Walker S2. The exclusivity runs for 36 months, though the clock does not start immediately — it is tied to certification conditions for the Walker C1, meaning the term begins only once those requirements are met. Bitcoin Japan Corporation serves as the sole distribution partner for the covered lines in Japan.

The Japanese contract governs sales of the listed products, a different kind of commitment from the company's Gulf arrangement. With the Ras Al Khaimah government's International Relations Office, Ubtech agreed on October 20 to a memorandum of understanding for strategic cooperation covering research, hands-on testing and rollout of humanoid robots in the emirate. The first application areas named are industrial automation, public services, elderly care and tourism.

Manufacturing Footprint Expands

Production is also ramping up. A separate media report flagged the start of operations at the Liuzhou plant, designed for an annual capacity of more than 10,000 robots. The facility's reported production cadence is one finished robot every ten minutes.

Earlier, roughly three weeks before the Gulf memorandum, Ubtech and FAW-Volkswagen announced a strategic partnership to develop and test embodied AI applications for automotive manufacturing, including logistics demonstrations using humanoid robots.
