XPeng has cleared a key industrial hurdle in Europe, completing a first trial build of its G9L model at the Magna contract manufacturing plant in Graz, Austria. The vehicle becomes the fourth XPeng nameplate to roll through the facility, and the first unit assembled on European soil will be shipped to Paris before the company's scheduled world premiere on October 12.

That premiere, set for the Paris Motor Show, will double as the official opening of European order books, with XPeng also set to publish concrete pricing for the region. The launch had been flagged roughly a week earlier, and the stock has added 0.9% since that announcement.

The manufacturing milestone lands alongside a solid run of deliveries at home. XPeng handed over 41,256 vehicles in September, a 5% gain on the prior month, with the L03 model crossing the 10,000-unit mark for the first time. For the full third quarter, deliveries reached 118,390 units — up 15% from the previous quarter. Those rising volumes sharpen the case for finding buyers beyond China's fiercely competitive domestic arena.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XPeng?

Sales Network Takes Shape in Germany

To underpin the European push, XPeng is building out distribution and service infrastructure. Operations in Germany launched in partnership with Emil Frey Deutschland, with the Hessengarage in Frankfurt and the Schwabengarage in Pforzheim serving as the first customer touchpoints. By year-end, the company aims to grow its German network to as many as 110 locations.

There was also a change in executive compensation. Brian Hongdi Gu, Vice Chairman and Co-President, received 250,000 Class A ordinary shares at no cost on October 2, following a record date of October 1, under an allocation of Restricted Share Units.

Market Sentiment Stays Subdued

Despite the operational progress, investor mood remains cautious. JPMorgan downgraded the stock from "Overweight" to "Neutral" on September 29, according to media reports, and slashed its price target to $11.50 from $24.00. The shares closed Wednesday at EUR 8.55, down 53% since the start of the year — a decline that underscores how much skepticism still shadows the company's expansion story.

Whether European production and the upcoming Paris debut can shift that momentum will only become clear once the official order window opens.
