The disconnect between XPeng's product pipeline and its share price has rarely been starker. The Chinese electric-vehicle maker is rolling out a flagship SUV packed with enough computing power to rival a small data center, yet the stock closed Tuesday at €10.48, down 2.60 percent on the day and barely 2.95 percent above its 52-week low from June 26. At the current price of €10.36, the equity sits just 1.77 percent above that trough — a level that suggests the market is pricing in a crisis the company's operations no longer reflect.

A Flagship Built for the Global Stage

The G9L, teased since Monday with interior details following on August 4, is XPeng's clearest statement yet that it intends to compete at the premium end of the international market. The SUV shares its platform with the GX flagship and comes in two flavors: a pure battery-electric version and a range-extender variant, a dual-pronged strategy aimed at easing the charging anxiety that still deters many Western buyers.

The specifications read like a spec sheet from a company with something to prove. The 800-volt architecture replenishes 450 kilometers of range in just nine minutes. The onboard computer delivers up to 2,250 TOPS of processing power — a figure that positions the vehicle firmly in technology-leader territory rather than budget-alternative territory. It will also be the first vehicle to receive XPeng's second-generation VLA model update for autonomous driving.

The physical dimensions are equally imposing: 5,120 millimeters in length, roughly 2.72 tons in weight, and a top speed of 200 km/h. The all-wheel-drive version pairs two motors — 160 kW and 270 kW — for a combined 430 kW, or 577 horsepower. Inside, the cabin offers 5.1 square meters of usable space, a fold-out table for rear passengers, and a voice-controlled refrigerator with 12.5 liters of capacity.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XPeng?

CEO He Xiaopeng has positioned the G9L as a "tech benchmark" in China's 300,000-yuan segment, roughly $44,180. Pricing and launch dates remain undisclosed, though the company has confirmed an Australian debut within the next six months and a major European showcase at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.

The Volume Engine: Mona Series Carries the Load

While the G9L attacks the premium tier, the Mona line is doing the heavy lifting on delivery numbers. The M03 sedan accounted for roughly 40 percent of all deliveries between January and May 2026, averaging over 13,000 units per month.

The newly unveiled Mona L03, a fastback crossover, aims to extend that momentum. It features XPeng's in-house Turing AI chip with 1,500 TOPS of computing power, a 26.8-inch head-up display, and a drag coefficient of just 0.228 — all at an entry price of around $21,100. Combined with the D11T wagon, the expanded lineup signals a clear shift from niche player to full-range manufacturer.

The delivery data supports the narrative of stabilization. July deliveries rose 4 percent year over year to 38,027 vehicles, bringing cumulative sales past 1.2 million. The second quarter was even more encouraging: 103,295 vehicles delivered, a 64.8 percent jump from the first quarter and within the company's own guidance range of 100,000 to 106,000 units.

The Chart Tells a Different Story

None of that operational progress has translated into share-price strength. The stock has lost 42.60 percent since the start of the year and sits 57.54 percent below its 52-week high of €24.40. The annualized volatility of 43.32 percent underscores the nervousness surrounding the name, while the RSI — reading 34.3 on one measure, 35.5 on another — hovers near oversold territory.

XPeng at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

The analyst consensus target of €19.40 implies upside of 87.3 percent from current levels. That gap between where the stock trades and where analysts see it heading suggests much of the pessimism about China's EV sector may already be baked into the price. The proximity to the yearly low has the feel of a coiled spring — the question is what triggers the release.

The Verdict: Show Me the Profitability

XPeng finds itself in a "prove it" phase. The products are here, the in-house AI chips are here, and the international roadmap is mapped out. The L03's launch in Indonesia and upcoming test flights of the AeroHT X2 flying taxi in Guangzhou underscore an innovation pace few competitors can match.

But the next quarterly report will be the first real test of the turnaround narrative. Investors will be watching closely whether the delivery momentum from the G9L, GX, and Mona L03 translates into actual profitability — the metric the Guangzhou-based management says it will focus on in the coming months. The technical specs are impressive on paper; the income statement is where the story will ultimately be written.
