XRP traded at $1.50 as spot ETFs drew $75.59M last week, their best since late August, while a new S&P 500-XRP ETF filing emerged.

XRP changed hands at $1.50 on Monday, up 0.7% on the day, as steady institutional buying through US-listed spot ETFs continued to underpin sentiment. The token has now spent weeks consolidating while professional investors quietly added to positions, a pattern market watchers read as growing acceptance of the asset inside conventional portfolio structures.

The eleven-week streak of net inflows into XRP spot ETFs tells the story. In the trading week ended Friday, those products attracted $75.59 million — their strongest weekly haul since late August. Rather than retreating during the recent price lull, capital pools kept accumulating, extending a run of consecutive positive weeks that has become a hallmark of the current phase.

A Hybrid Product Takes Shape on Wall Street

Asset managers are not content to let existing funds do all the work. Exchange Listed Funds Trust has filed paperwork with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for a novel combined vehicle — a strategy ETF that would give investors a blended portfolio of the S&P 500 equity index alongside XRP. The proposal signals that product designers now see room for crypto exposure inside mainstream, index-linked wrappers.

Whale Movements and a Security Fallout

On-chain activity added another layer to the week's developments. Whale Alert flagged a transfer of 90 million XRP from the trading platform Uphold to an unidentified wallet on Friday.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

That disclosure landed amid the broader fallout from a hack that security firms Elliptic and TRM Labs have linked to North Korean groups. More than $157 million in assets — at the time of the theft — drained from a Bitget hot wallet. Roughly $83 million of that, denominated in XRP, has since been moved onward from intermediary accounts, with the remainder still sitting on other addresses.

The XRP Ledger's architecture rules out any central intervention: the protocol has no mechanism for account freezes by a central party, so Ripple cannot block transactions from the affected accounts. Exchanges can only halt incoming deposits once stolen holdings hit their systems. Bitget has pledged to cover the full loss through an internal protection fund, saying customer money was untouched and that withdrawals will be phased back in through October 2.

Validators Line Up the Batch Upgrade

Network governance is moving forward in parallel. Validators have reset their coordinated vote so that a bug fix can be bundled with the main feature, and the activation of the so-called batch amendment — which will allow up to eight transactions to be submitted as a package — is now targeted for no earlier than October 9. A prior vote on the batch function had already cleared the required majority on Friday, and if that support holds, the upgrade ships alongside the patch.

Mastercard, meanwhile, has signed on as a sponsor of a developer hackathon for the XRP Ledger in New York, according to media reports — a further sign of corporate engagement beyond the trading desks.

Chart Picture

On the technical side, XRP trades above its 50-day moving average of $1.35, a level that lends support to the recent consolidation trend. Measured against that same average, the token sits roughly 14% higher.
