Manufacturing workforce expansion
According to John Deere, 150 employees will return to Seeding and Cylinder Operations in Moline, Illinois, while approximately 225 will return to Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois. The company said the additional workforce is intended to build dealer inventory ahead of upcoming planting and harvest cycles and support operational planning.
John Deere also said it had brought back or hired more than 800 employees across Iowa and Illinois since January. The announcement identified Dustin Lemmon, a John Deere spokesperson, as saying the company remains focused on serving customers while working with its workforce and union partners.
