Reported Codifrance negotiations
Carrefour’s stock quote is separate from reports about a potential acquisition of Codifrance. RMC Conso reported on October 5, citing La Lettre, that Carrefour had entered exclusive negotiations on October 1 to acquire Codifrance, a purchasing organization supplying more than 3,000 points of sale. More than 800 outlets operate under brands including Coccinelle, CocciMarket, Panier Sympa and VivEco, according to the report.
Boursorama, citing AFP and La Lettre, reported on September 29 that Carrefour wanted to buy Codifrance from Belgium’s Colruyt for EUR 155 million. The report said Codifrance had 500 employees, two logistics bases and 2025 revenue of EUR 300 million. It also said Carrefour had not commented on the reported negotiations. RMC reported that the offer had not been formally accepted and would require regulatory approval if an agreement were reached. The stores supplied by Codifrance are legally independent, and individual operators would decide whether to adopt a Carrefour banner, according to RMC.
