Five-year technology agreement
Cognizant announced on October 6, 2026, a five-year extension of its work with Gilead Sciences. Under the agreement, Cognizant will support selected Gilead technology programs, including DevOps capabilities and the responsible application of agentic AI tools.
The work is intended to support Gilead's development and operations environment, with a focus on selected programs and technology capabilities. Cognizant said the updated scope follows more than a decade of work supporting elements of Gilead's global IT infrastructure, platforms, applications and advanced analytics.
Lenacapavir access planning
In a September 16, 2026 announcement, Gilead Sciences said it had expanded six royalty-free voluntary licensing agreements for investigational once-yearly lenacapavir for HIV prevention. The agreements cover 120 high-incidence countries and are intended to support manufacturing readiness, technology transfer and future supply planning while the Phase 3 PURPOSE 365 trial is ongoing.
Gilead stated that once-yearly lenacapavir for PrEP remains investigational and has not been approved by any regulatory authority.
