UniCredit S.p.A. issued EUR 750 million of Additional Tier 1 non-cumulative temporary write-down deeply subordinated fixed-rate resettable notes on September 18, 2026, according to the bank's press release.
Terms of the issue
The notes carry a fixed coupon of 6.25 percent per year through December 2031, paid semiannually. If they are not called, the coupon will reset every five years to the applicable five-year mid-swap rate plus a margin of 284.1 basis points.
The securities include a 5.125 percent Common Equity Tier 1 trigger and are perpetual. UniCredit said the coupon payments are fully discretionary under regulatory requirements.
Demand and capital plan
UniCredit said investor demand exceeded EUR 3.5 billion from more than 220 investors globally. The issuance forms part of the group's 2026 institutional MREL funding plan and is expected to improve the Tier 1 ratio by about 25 basis points.
