Institutional Momentum Grows as Aviva Partners with Ripple to Run Funds on XRPL

13.02.2026 - 04:20:23

Ripple is accelerating its integration with conventional finance by teaming up with Aviva Investors to migrate traditional fund structures onto the XRP Ledger. The collaboration signals a broader push toward tokenizing real-world assets and could bolster institutional demand for XRP over the longer term.

A Link Between TradFi and the Blockchain

The centerpiece of the agreement is using the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to administer traditional investment funds. Aviva Investors intends to deploy blockchain technology to streamline the issuance and management of fund shares. The firm highlights several benefits, including faster transaction processing, lower costs, and the network?s energy efficiency. For Ripple, this marks the first collaboration of its kind with a European asset manager, reinforcing the company?s focus on institutional clients.

Surge in On-Chain Activity

The news comes amid a clear uptick in XRPL activity. On-chain analytics show the number of active addresses on the XRPL nearly doubled from Sunday to Wednesday, now exceeding 32,700.

Separately, Bybit announced a partnership with Doppler Finance to introduce institutional yield products tied to XRP. Since XRP does not support native staking, this collaboration addresses a key gap for large investors seeking ongoing returns.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

Big-Player Interest Takes Shape

Institutional interest appears to be broadening, as large transfers?over $100,000?hit a four-month high. Among notable movements were shifts totaling 125 million XRP. In price terms, XRP advanced roughly 11% over the past week, landing near $1.36, though the cryptocurrency remains noticeably lower on a year-to-date basis.

Leadership View and Strategic Direction

CEO Brad Garlinghouse has reiterated XRP?s role as a guiding element in the company?s strategy, describing it as the ?north star.? He also signaled possible acquisitions in the second half of 2026. Coupled with ongoing regulatory discussions in Washington, the comments suggest Ripple is sharpening its emphasis on tangible real-world applications and sustained institutional growth.
