Evotec AGM Gives Green Light to Board Growth and Horizon Plan as Weinand Takes Chair
11.06.2026 - 22:16:02 | boerse-global.de
Evotec shareholders gathered in Hamburg today and voted through all agenda items, including a leadership shake-up at the top of the supervisory board. The stock responded with a near-2% climb to €4.70, though the gain did little to alter the broader picture of a stock that has shed roughly 36% over the past year and 16% since January.
Dieter Weinand and Dr. Wolfgang Hofmann were elected to the board, and immediately after the vote the newly constituted body appointed Weinand as chairman. He succeeds Prof. Dr. Iris Löw-Friedrich. Dr. Duncan McHale and Wesley Wheeler were confirmed in their existing roles. Approximately 43% of the share capital was represented at the meeting, and both management and the supervisory board received their discharge with minimal opposition.
The board expansion from six to seven members underscores the company’s push for additional expertise and independence as it executes the “Horizon” transformation strategy unveiled in March 2026. That programme targets operational efficiency, technological leadership in drug discovery, and a path back to profitability. To fund the restructuring, Evotec placed a convertible bond worth roughly €116 million in May, a debt bet that investors will be watching closely given the pressure on the share price.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Evotec?
Technically, the stock remains well below key levels. The 200-day moving average sits at €5.61, about 16% above the current price, while the 52-week high of €7.75, touched in November 2025, is nearly 40% away. Weinand’s appointment brings renewed focus on extracting growth from Evotec’s pharma and biotech partnerships, but the market’s verdict hinges on whether “Horizon” can deliver measurable results soon enough to reverse the downward drift.
