Duran Duran will release the physical edition of Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes on 30 October 2026, their first-ever vinyl remix album. The set extends the band’s collaboration with Nile Rodgers into CD and vinyl formats.
Free To Love Hot Star Remixes reaches three formats
The release will arrive on CD, single vinyl and a special-edition vinyl version on 30 October 2026. Each format uses metallic ink, while the package includes cover photography by keyboardist Nick Rhodes.
RTTNews details the three formats. The standard CD will gather the remixes released digitally, the original single and two new band reworkings. Those additions are Love Overture and Across the Galaxy.
Far Out confirms the 30 October date and describes the collection as the first time the act has made a remix album available on vinyl. The special edition adds a 7-inch record to its package.
Duran Duran connect new-wave roots with remix culture
Duran Duran’s Birmingham history records the 1978 formation and describes the group’s synth-led, pop-oriented sound. That background fits a release built around club remixes and dance music.
The self-titled debut album arrived in 1981, followed by Rio in 1982. The current project therefore links the group’s early synth-pop identity with a contemporary remix format.
Free To Love extends a Nile Rodgers collaboration
The album grows out of Free To Love, the Nile Rodgers collaboration at its centre. The physical edition will place that track alongside remixes by dance-focused producers and the two new band versions.
Its design also keeps the visual language close to the band. Nick Rhodes supplied the original cover photograph, and the CD and single vinyl include an eight-page booklet. The special edition has fold-out booklets attached to its gatefold.
