John Legend sets Muse for a Republic Records release
Muse is scheduled for 23 October 2026 and will arrive through Republic Records. Universal Music Canada’s release details identify Pharrell Williams as the album’s full producer and co-writer. The collaboration is their first project together in more than two decades.
The album’s lead single is Daylight, presented as the first preview of the record. Its announced tracklist also includes Her, Get Back, Are You OK?, Fireflies and Bodies on the Floor. Official Charts confirms the date and publishes the complete tracklist.
John Legend broadens his piano-led musical palette
Legend’s catalogue has often been associated with piano-led ballads, while Muse draws on a wider set of Black musical traditions. The album’s description names gospel, standards, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat and hip-hop among its ingredients.
The production credit gives the album a clear two-artist centre. Williams produces Muse in full and co-writes it, while Legend supplies the vocal and songwriting role. The tracklist also credits Clipse on Bodies on the Floor.
The Muse tracklist joins gospel, soul and hip-hop
Several songs show how the concept travels across the tracklist. Her draws on doo-wop and gospel, while Get Back uses a cinematic soul arrangement.
Are You OK? turns a relationship argument into a song, and Bodies on the Floor features Clipse. Fireflies and Get Back feature Pharrell Williams, while the title track opens the 16-song sequence.
Taken together, the production credit and tracklist make Muse a John Legend release built around a sustained collaboration.
