The Las Vegas residency uses Metallica’s No Repeat format
The official schedule places the 8 October 2026 show at Sphere, Las Vegas, and the band’s official residency announcement gives the run its name, Life Burns Faster.
The format pairs Thursday and Saturday performances, and Metallica says the two shows in each weekend use different setlists. The paired Sphere date is 10 October 2026.
The official listing presents the run as a residency, rather than a single concert, with further Las Vegas dates arranged across October and November 2026.
Metallica’s four-piece brings thrash metal to Sphere
Metallica are an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, with a sound closely associated with thrash metal. The current line-up comprises James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.
Hetfield handles vocals and rhythm guitar, Ulrich drums, Hammett lead guitar and Trujillo bass. That four-piece carries the band’s established live identity into the Sphere residency.
The band’s latest studio album is 72 Seasons. The official announcement links Life Burns Faster to the No Repeat Weekends developed during the M72 World Tour.
Each Thursday and Saturday pairing has a clear musical rule: songs are not repeated between the two nights.
The Sphere schedule continues through November 2026
After 8 and 10 October, Sphere dates follow on 15 and 17 October, 22 and 24 October, and 29 and 31 October 2026. The November pair falls on 5 and 7 November 2026.
The Live Nation schedule records the same residency dates and places every listed show at Sphere. Later dates continue in January, February and March 2027, extending the residency beyond the autumn run.
