RAYE’s Mercury Prize performance is set for Newcastle
The official programme lists RAYE among the artists taking the stage at Utilita Arena on 22 October 2026. The Mercury Prize performance details identify the Newcastle ceremony as the 2026 Awards Show.
Each named artist will perform one track from their Album of the Year. The event will culminate in the announcement of the overall winner, while BBC Music is the programme’s broadcast partner.
RAYE’s nominated album shapes the Newcastle programme
THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE appears among the 12 2026 Mercury Prize Albums of the Year. The shortlist and venue information pair RAYE with that album and place the Awards Show at Utilita Arena in Newcastle.
That pairing gives the 22 October 2026 appearance a defined role within the ceremony. RAYE is scheduled to present one track from the shortlisted album, rather than perform an unrelated standalone set.
The programme also includes Dove Ellis, Florence + The Machine, JADE, Knats, Kojey Radical, Nia Archives, Olivia Dean, Suede and Pulp. Pulp will perform on behalf of the HELP(2) album, according to the event announcement.
RAYE’s Mercury Prize appearance sits inside the awards programme
The 2026 Mercury Prize returns to Newcastle with live performances from artists represented on the Albums of the Year shortlist. For RAYE, the Newcastle date connects the ceremony’s album focus with a performance of music from her nominated release.
The awards programme is presented as part of a wider week of music activity across Newcastle. Its central event remains the 22 October 2026 ceremony at Utilita Arena, where the overall prize decision is announced.
