Simple Minds bring Glasgow roots to the California festival

That breadth fits the Darker Waves bill, which brings established new-wave acts together with alternative performers. Simple Minds’ catalogue includes New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84), Once Upon a Time and Direction of the Heart, linking the California appearance with both the group’s classic period and later studio work.
