Darker Waves sets Simple Minds’ date in Huntington Beach
The band’s official live notice places Simple Minds at Darker Waves on Saturday 14 November 2026 in Huntington Beach. The Darker Waves event page lists Huntington Beach City Beach as the venue and repeats the date.
The festival setting makes the California appearance different from a standalone concert, with the band sharing one programme with a wide selection of established alternative acts. The published bill gives the date a clear musical frame without assigning a running order or setlist.
Simple Minds carry Glasgow rock to the festival
Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band whose public profile centres on singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill. Hot Press describes the group as Glaswegian while covering the Darker Waves appearance and the band’s wider live plans.
The catalogue includes songs such as Don’t You (Forget About Me), Alive and Kicking and Belfast Child. Those recordings connect the Huntington Beach date with the material that has defined Simple Minds’ rock sound across several generations of listeners.
The Darker Waves bill places the date among 2026 festivals
Live Nation’s Darker Waves announcement says more than 35 artists will perform across three stages at Huntington Beach City Beach. The listed names include The Damned, Manic Street Preachers, Gary Numan, Silversun Pickups, Buzzcocks and EMF.
For Simple Minds, the booking connects a Glasgow-rooted rock identity with a California festival built around alternative and post-punk acts. The result is a single-day appearance with the festival name, venue and city fixed for 14 November 2026.
