System of a Down will release the Toxicity (25th Anniversary) edition on 20 November 2026, linking a physical reissue to the album’s 25-year history. The package revisits the band’s best-known record in CD and vinyl formats.
Toxicity returns in CD and vinyl anniversary editions
The release date is 20 November 2026. Sony Music’s product page gives the release date. It identifies a standard black-vinyl edition with the original album and a 7-inch single of Johnny.
The single’s B-side carries a custom etched design, while the LP package also includes a double-sided poster. The official CD listing describes new cover art and a 24-page booklet created for the anniversary edition in the official CD listing.
System of a Down’s Armenian-American metal foundation
System of a Down are an Armenian-American band formed in Glendale, California. Their sound combines alternative metal and thrash with punk energy and Armenian musical elements, as outlined in the band’s biography.
Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan make up the quartet. That four-piece identity gives the anniversary release a direct connection to the band’s recorded catalogue rather than a compilation by outside performers.
The reissue keeps Toxicity’s original musical programme
The track sequence includes Prison Song, Needles, Chop Suey!, Toxicity, Aerials and Der Voghormia. The vinyl package combines that sequence with the separate Johnny 7-inch.
The CD focuses on refreshed presentation through its new cover and booklet. Its updated closing-track credit gives Der Voghormia the name described by the band’s official store, replacing the mistaken name Arto.
