Its accurate GPS rating also rises from 26 hours on the predecessor to 42 hours on the newer model, according to an independent comparison of the two watches.

Phone Compatibility and Daily Limits

The Zepp App connects the watch with Android 7.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later. Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz, phone notifications, music controls, route tools, and selected integrations with Strava, adidas Running, TrainingPeaks, komoot, Relive, Google Fit, and Apple Health extend the watch beyond standalone workout recording.

The watch includes a built-in microphone for Zepp Flow voice control and speech-to-text replies, but it does not support Bluetooth phone calls. Third-party music apps cannot be installed directly, although the watch can control music playing from a connected phone and can store MP3 files for Bluetooth headphone playback.

The T-Rex 3 fits outdoor athletes who want long battery intervals, offline route tools, a bright screen, and broad sport coverage without moving to the higher price tier of premium expedition watches. Its limits are equally concrete: phone calls remain notification-only, music control depends on a connected phone for third-party services, and the longest GPS figures require restrictive power-saving settings.
